The Centre for Inquiry Canada (CFIC) is taking steps to prioritize Canadian data privacy by exploring alternatives to U.S.-based technologies. Recognizing that many of its current tools, like PayPal, are American, CFIC is encouraging supporters to consider Canadian options such as CanadaHelps and Interac e-Transfers. This shift aims to keep donor data within Canada, reducing exposure to foreign data laws like the U.S. Patriot Act.

CFIC is also seeking input on reliable Canadian tech solutions for its operations. This initiative reflects a broader movement to support local services and safeguard personal information.
