Religious neutrality is a cornerstone of a fair and inclusive society. April 15, 2025, marks the tenth anniversary of the Supreme Court of Canada’s ruling in MLQ v Saguenay, which affirmed that government meetings must remain free from religious bias. To honour this milestone, the BC Humanist Association is urging municipalities to declare April 15 as Religious Neutrality Day.
You can help make this happen! Use the BCHA’s tool to contact your local council and request the proclamation. By supporting religious neutrality, you’re advocating for a society that respects all beliefs—religious and non-religious alike. Let’s take a stand for freedom of thought and true inclusivity.
