In this presentation, Leslie Rosenblood (Secularism Chair for the Centre for Inquiry Canada) discusses secularism in Canada: what it is, what it isn’t, and why it’s the means to maximal freedom for all. He covers the history of secularism in Canada, compares it with the United States, provides an assessment of where Canada currently adheres to secular principles, and how it can improve in the future.
About the Speaker:
Leslie, a long-time advocate for science and secular values, joined CFI Canada shortly after its inception. With a strong belief in evidence-based public policy, Leslie champions reason, science, and rational discourse in shaping societal discussions. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (Computer Science) from the University of Waterloo and an MBA in Science and Technology from Queen’s University.
Leslie’s career spans multiple roles across various industries in several countries, and he has performed in countless plays and improvisational comedy shows. A marathon runner and father of four, Leslie currently resides in Toronto and writes about topics such as secularism, politics, free speech, and ethics on his blog.
