The period between 2000 and 2050 is critical for our planet’s future, largely due to how we manage climate change. Current policies suggest a significant and lasting sea level rise, with 0.3 meters locked in by 2300 based on today’s emissions. However, if we step up our efforts to cut emissions, we could reduce this rise by 0.6 meters. Meanwhile, technology for renewable energy and electric vehicles has advanced dramatically, making cleaner options more accessible. Yet, political resistance is hampering progress. As climate change remains a contentious issue, we risk falling behind in clean energy transition, leading to severe global consequences. Now is the time to invest smartly and act decisively.
